A very pleasant route with exposed sections along the ridges towards Monte Pegherolo. We reach San Simone (BG) by car and leave the car at the ‘Baita del Camoscio’ refuge. From here, follow the main path, which can also be partially traveled by four-wheel-drive vehicles, to reach ‘Passo San Simone’ to the west. A few meters before reaching the pass, keep to the left, passing under Monte Cavallo; from here, the first stage climbs to Monte Cavallo, where you can enjoy the stunning view.
In sequence: view of Monte Pegherolo and the ridge route that will take you to its summit.
Then descend from Monte Cavallo and continue along the ridge, first reaching Pizzo Cavallino, with alternating ascents and descents and very exposed sections where particular attention is needed (on the final ascent, fixed chains can be used for assistance) to reach Monte Pegherolo. For the return, it is highly recommended to follow the same route back; the uploaded route does not follow official trails and indicates the return through an exposed section in a gully.
